It’s week four of the One Room Challenge and I’m starting to really feel the pressure! The clock keeps ticking louder and louder, this was a big project to take on-especially when we are doing 100% of the labor. You can go back and review week one, two , and three. I think this round of the ORC I’ll be working right up until the end.
This week we put up more of the trim work, another 1/2 day of work and all of the wainscoting will be up. You can see in the picture above that we finished trimming out the remaining windows on the living room side-last week we trimmed the dining room windows. Now that the windows are trimmed and the new paint color is up the room feels twice as big.
Aside from the trim work I installed the new chandelier. This was my first electrical install, and needed the help of my 12 year old, but truthfully it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I absolutely love the new chandelier. I searched and debated on just the right one for weeks. I love the simplicity of the design, but my favorite part is the gold accent color on the inner rim. You can find the exact chandelier here.
Now on to what needs to happen by Thursday. My original plan was to have all the trim work and wainscoting painted professionally. But I got to thinking how easy it would be to do it ourselves with a paint sprayer. I’ve never owned a sprayer and did a lot of research before choosing one. I ended up going with the Home Right Finish Max Pro Sprayer. You may remember me raving about the Paint Stick and Paint Edger I used when I painted the walls. They both worked so well, and the Pro Sprayer got really great reviews on Amazon-I feel confident that this sprayer will be a great choice.
So over the next week I’d love to have everything spackled, caulked, and prepped for painting the wainscoting…and then paint all of the trim work! This will require a big push, but once it’s done I’ll only have the finishing touches to do.
The items I ordered are starting to arrive and I’m thrilled with what has arrived so far. AND I found the rug for $100 dollars cheaper-wahooooo! I linked the rug and all the pillow covers below.
