Summer time is the most common time to move. Undoubtedly there are a lot of expenses when moving, so I want to highlight what I think are the keys to settling in and making your new space feel like home and meaningful.
Casper and I created a list of our recommendations for new home essentials.
They help pull a space together. Often you aren’t able to replace the carpet right away and you can find so many amazing rugs at affordable prices now that layering a rug over the carpet is a great option. Here are a few I’m loving right now.
You’re able to show your character and what you love through your artwork. Often if you’re renting or in an appartment you need to work with the existing paint color. Through art you can set the tone for the room.
NEW MATTRESS, SHEETS AND PILLOWSWhen we moved a few summers ago my first goal was to get the bedrooms set up. With the stress of moving I wanted everyone in the family to have a space of their own that was comfortable. Casper is a perfect place to shop when wanting to set up a comfortable and inviting bedroom. They will ship their incredible mattresses right to you, no more struggling and wrestling home a bulky mattress. They also have a beautiful selection of bedding options.

Pendants in the kitchen, chandeliers in the entry and dining room. If you’re replacing an exsisting feature it’s a quick and easy project. I recently changed out our chandelier with the help of my twelve year old. The biggest thing you need to remember is to shut off the electricity to the house before you start. My top three budget friendly sources for lighting are-
Those are my new home essentials. I hope you find these recommendations very very helpful. Congratulations on your move and try to take it one day at a time and enjoy and embrace the change.
