Let me start with an apology, this post is WAY overdue. I talked about sharing the way I organize my closet at the beginning of the month in THIS POST. We will file this in the better late then never category.
The hanging clothes are pretty self explanatory but what I’m always interested in is seeing how all of the other items get stored.
I have hanging clothes on the right, more on the left and two cabinets in the middle. The middle cabinets are where all of the non-hanging items are stored. I went through and labeled what I store in those cabinets.
The white storage containers are from Ikea. The white boxes are called the SKUBB and are $15 for a pack of 3. The lidded boxes are called SOCKERBIT and are $5 each. Ikea has great storage pieces that are very affordable.
THE MARIE KONDO FOLDING METHOD
I have yet to see Marie’s new organizing show that everyone is talking about. However, I bought her book years ago and after reading it I began organizing my closet drawers using her method.
With Marie’s method you roll everything. That way it’s easy to see and your drawers have more room. Everything that is in my drawers is rolled using this method. If you haven’t tried it yet, I guarantee you’ll love it.
My shoes are all on the left side of the closet. I use cut pool noodles in my boots so they’ll stand up. This is a tip I saw years ago on Pinterest.
I hope you gained a few ideas that may be helpful in your own closet. Sometimes one little tweak can make a big difference when it comes to organization. If you have a tip or trick you’ve used in your own closet I’d love for you to leave a comment below and share it with everyone.
