One Room Challenge-Week 2
In case you missed last week, the one room challenge is a blogger challenge hosted by Linda of Calling it Home. Bloggers choose one room and have exactly 6 weeks to transform it. I’ve done our Master Bedroom, our Family Room, and Dining and Living Room in the past. This time I choose our office, in case you missed it, get caught up on the first week HERE.
I was out of town last weekend so here is what I was able to get done during the week. I plan to hit it hard this weekend and look forward to sharing more progress next week.
We have a farmhouse table that I bought years ago on Craigslist. I painted the top with chalkboard paint, and used it as a craft table for years (in theory I guess I pictured myself crafting a lot-that never really happened)! So basically this has set in our guest room downstairs collecting dust.
I am trying to do this home office makeover on a budget, and this table is the perfect size for a partners desk. The office will be used by myself and my husband and this table will give both of us room to work. The desk was dark and dated and want the office to be light and bright, so I broke out my paint sprayer.
If you have a furniture painting project in your future this sprayer by Home Right is easy to use and gives you a professional finish. I also highly recommend the Spray Shelter also by Home Right. It’s a tent that protects the surrounding area when spray painting. I LOVE IT, if you spray paint you need the spray shelter.
That’s what I did this week-two coats of primer, and two coats of enamel finish paint. I want to give it one more final coat and then add a clear polyurethane top coat.

I shared the design plan with you last week I love it, but this past week I played around with a few different rug option. I’ve narrowed it down to two rugs. This first design board is the original board and the second board shows a colorful rug….
What do you think-blue and white or colorful? Please comment below.
Here are the rest of the items I’m planning on using in the office.
