I recently made an update to our gallery wall and wanted to share it with you.
I love the varied sizes and styles of the white frames, but they really didn’t pop. I also loved the graphic sayings that I framed and added to the wall (but more on that later!), but I felt like the gallery wall need something else to really make it a standout.
Please excuse the glare, I needed to snap a before picture, before I started painting and it was bright and sunny that day.
The wall is noticeable from the front door, and is in the main halway that leads to the kitchen and family room. And I knew it could be a real focal point, but it needed something…
I decided to paint the picture wall Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy. It’s a deep navy color and I would see it on Pinterest and Instagram and loved it, but I was a little afraid of going so bold! I finally took the plunge and I’m so glad I did.
The navy color really makes the photos and frames stand out. Even though it’s a hallway because there is a big opening, and because the frames are white it doesn’t feel dark or smaller. If anything it makes it feel bigger.
I added three black white framed sayings I like how
it breaks up all the pictures and adds an unexpected element. The sayings are printed napkins, I just removed the glass from the frames and stretched the fabric over the backing. Once I stretched the fabric I secured it with painters tape. So easy! I love the texture of the linen.
Find these exact printed napkins here.
Here are a few other favorites that would be great to add in to a gallery wall.
Hope that gave you some ideas for your own gallery wall.
