DIY WOOD SIGN
I’m excited to share with you today the method I used to make this easy DIY wood sign. Guaranteed it’s easier than you think! Here’s what you’ll need to make your own.
I found my chalk board at Hobby Lobby, it’s got a nice thick frame that you can hang on a wall or it will stand on it’s own. I’ve made my own chalk paint from this recipe, but you can also order some from Amazon here. I choose a word or phrase that I like and then just print it out on my home printer. If you’re looking for unique fonts there are loads of free ones for personal use on Dafont.com For the word STAY I downloaded the Goldoni font, and for the word AWHILE I downloaded Signerica. Depending on how big you want to make your lettering the word may print out on two different sheets, cutting the word off. That’s ok, just piece the two parts of the word together and tape it into one word. Make sure you put the tape on the front side of the paper.
That’s all there is to it! The hardest part for me is deciding what I want to write on my sign. The possibilities are endless with this method, I used the same method to make this sign in my kitchen. You could make a large sign or a small one, the method is exactly the same. Let me know if you have any questions on how to make your own DIY wood sign.

Hi Laura, thanks so much for this. Aside from the beauty of the wooden sign itself, the instructions are spot on. Do you think I can get a better replacement for the painters tape if I can’t get one?
This sign is so great >3 Do you think it’ll be a nice feature on the entrance door? Let the people see your artistic skill kind of thing!
