I’m so excited to share this easy DIY holiday project. I did a blog post several years ago (unfortunately all my previous posts are gone and lost forever), however the original images can still be found on Pinterest. This pin is by and large my most popular pin to date. So I thought I’d recreate the project with a few updates to my original design. Here is my pin from the original post. These are the material you will need.
Pinecones/Succulents/Tea Cup Hooks/Moss/Ribbon
This time I painted the tips of my pinecones with white chalk paint. And then screw the tea cup hook into the top of the pinecone.
Next, hot glue moss to the top of pinecone.
I have lots of succulents in my yard, so I broke some off. Leave approx. a 1/2″ to an 1″ stem when you break them off. Then start tucking into the pinecone. I added some glue to the stems just to make sure they wouldn’t go anywhere.
After you tuck as many Succulents and moss into the pinecone, attach a ribbon or cord to the hook.
To keep them alive I simply mist the Succulents every few days. They will last months this way.
I spend so much time at my kitchen window, I thought I’d hang them there. I just attached the ribbon to the wall with a clear thumb tack, which is hidden under the bamboo shades.
And there you have it. It took less than an hour to put together and hang all five of them.
After Christmas is over I plan to hang them from a tree branch in the yard.
These would make a great holiday gift as well. Hope you enjoyed this festive DIY.

Laura
