I’ve been packing up Christmas this week, as I’m sure you have been too. I set a few things aside and put together a festive table to celebrate New Years. We have a tradition that New Year’s Day I make crepes for breakfast. They are to die for, hands down my sons favorite thing that I make. I’ll be sharing the recipe with you at the end of this post.
I got creative and used what I had to set the table. I made these felt place mats for our Christmas table. All the details here.
The sparkly branches I use as a tree topper but thought they’d be perfect as a base for a New Years themed table setting. Then I layered my wood bead garland, again straight off my tree.
While I was out Christmas shopping I found these laser cut, paper, napkin rings on clearance from Anthropologie. They looked more like New Years than Christmas to me. The matching little paper flowers in the vases are actually boutineers but thought they added a fun element tucked into the vases.
And now the ultimate crepe recipe. These have the best flavor and my entire family loves them, but my twelve year old looooooooooves them! Hands down his favorite breakfast. I’ve been making this recipe for close to 10 years, and found it originally on Epicurious.
They are unbelievably scruptions! They take less than 10 minutes to mix up. When I cook them I use two pans and it takes approximately 30 minutes. I definitely recommend using two pans, while I’m cooking and flipping the crepes I cut up and prep the fruit to use as filling.
Here are my families favorite things to fill and top them with. My daughters favorite-lemon curd and fresh berries. My sons favorite-nutella and banana. Both love to top it with powdered sugar, whip cream, and a touch of syrup.
Pretty much a dessert for breakfast, but we usually have some eggs and potatoes and then end with these for a delicious treat. I guarantee that once you make these they will become a family favorite.
