We are entering what seems like baby shower season. I’ve gotten to help with two showers in the past month. Baby showers are so fun to plan, and I wanted to share some of the details of one of the recent showers!
If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, I shared a few weeks ago the process I used to set up this entryway table for a dear friends Son and Daughter-in-laws baby shower. There were a few requests to share more details, so here you go!
FLOWERS AND DECOR
The expecting parents are just the sweetest couple who LOVE adventure. So the ADVENTURE AWAITS seemed very fitting. The dad-to-be’s sweet sister set up this scene that greeted guests at the front door.
Right inside the front door we set up a playful scene. The I found cut birch logs at Michaels and used earthquake putty to stick clear glass vases (also from Michaels) on top of the logs. I tucked the moss and candle votive inside the vases. It made for an adventurous statement, reminiscent of the couples love for camping and outdoor adventure, right when you walked in. This was a couples shower so I didn’t want the arrangement to be too feminine.
My dear friend who hosted the shower has an AMAZING beach home, so we really didn’t need to go over the top with decor or flowers. We added in some pale blue hydrangeas and placed them in galvanized tins from Michaels.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Our friends have such a gift of hospitality, they entertain a lot, so they have food and drink set up down to a science. I love the presentation.
My friend and her family run an amazing non-profit organization called SMALL STEPS FOR COMPASSION. Through the years it’s grown and they now run an orphanage and a school in Tanzania. A local San Clemente coffee shop, BEAR COAST COFFEE, has partnered with SMALL STEPS on several events and while they don’t usually set up for private parties, they were kind enough to come and serve their delicious coffee at the baby shower.
The shower was a mid morning brunch and as I mentioned it was a couples and family shower so there were all ages. They kept that in mind when planning the menu. Here’s what they served.
DOUGHNUTS, BAGELS, YOGURT PARFAIT’S,
STUFFED FRENCH TOAST, QUICHE, ROASTED POTATOES, AND BACON
If you’re local the hot dishes were catered by WHAT A DISH, and everything was absolutely delicious!
There’s the glowing mommy-to-be with her mother-in-law and sister-in-laws. So excited for them!!! The baby was due yesterday, everyone is anxiously awaiting his arrival.
Unfortunately I forgot to get a picture but as party favors Blair (aka-soon to be momma) is a skin consultant with Rodan and Fields and sent everyone home with a sample moisturizer. I personally LOVE their skin products and feel like it’s taken years of wear and tear off my skin since I began using them a year ago. I’m not a consultant but Blair could answer any questions you may have. Here’s the link to her page.
Hope this gives you a few ideas for your next celebration!
