VALENTINES DAY AT HOME BLOG TOUR
Welcome my friends, I’m so glad you joined me and some of my favorite blogging friends as we share ideas on celebrating Valentines Day at home. I want to say thank you to Kelly of The Green Spring Home for including me in this talented group! If you popped over from Erin’s home, welcome! Isn’t she so creative and talented. If you missed it, I’ll link to her tour, and each of the ladies opening their homes, at the end of the post.
We traditonally celebrate Valentines Day as a family. The weekend prior to Valentines Day we have a family brunch. Living in Southern California, February typically is sunny and starts to feel like spring. If the weather permits we love to have our Valentines Day brunch in the backyard.
I knew I wanted to do something bright and festive on the table. I saw this wrapping paper at World Market, and loved the pretty mix of bright colors. Yes…that’s right, wrapping paper. It’s an inexpensive way to add color and interest to any table. You can see how I’ve used it for our Christmas Table HERE.
Our family is a big fan of yogurt parfait’s. They will definitely be on this year’s brunch menu.
For the parfait’s I layered: Greek yogurt, granola, raspberries, and drizzled with honey
Last year I shared all about a tradition that my husband and I started when the kids were little. You can find ALL THE DETAILS HERE. To summarize-my husband and I take turns reading these same three books to the kids each Valentines Day. We cry each year, in fact I usually just have to see the books and well up with tears. They are the sweetest books and the kids seem to really enjoy hearing us
read sob through them each year.
I have to say I love Valentines Day, and celebrating the one’s I love. It’s simple traditions: eat brunch together, read/cry over books, and we each take turns sharing at least one thing we LOVE about each person, but simple ways to show your love can mean so much.
Such a great group, and so much inspiration!
