Spring Table Decor
I’m thrilled to be joining 7 other talented bloggers on this years Spring Tablescape Blog Tour. If you’re joining me from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia welcome! I loved all of Kristin’s beautiful and inspiring ideas.
This year my approach to decorating has been less is more, and sometimes a quiet simple table is all you need. I really wanted to focus on just a few elements, that all worked together so our spring table felt special and natural. The inspiration began when I saw some beautiful ferns on my morning walk one day and knew I wanted to incorporate them somehow into this years spring decor.
I had a few different shaped bottles already and tucked the ferns I snipped, along with a few other green sprigs, into the vases filled with water. To make the table feel extra special I stuck candles into the top of the vases. Here they are gathered together. This was the “wow” factor for the table and it didn’t cost me anything.
Instead of place cards, I kept with the glass bottle theme, and added tiny bottles to each place with a hand written linen tag. Again, just filled them with tiny flowers and a fern sprig from the yard.
I added some wood chargers from World Market, and tried out this basket from Target that matched the chargers perfectly. I liked the look, but ultimately felt like the basket was so large it wasn’t the most practical choice. That’s the key-whether it’s putting together a table or putting together a room-it’s trial and error. When ever I set the table for a special event I like to do it a few days ahead of time. That way I can live with it and tweak a few things until I get it just right. The two runners I layered down the center are both from Pottery Barn. I thought they’d be perfect all year, I thought it’d be fun to use them as a base for my table each season this year. I’ll share along the way. Our table is such a dark wood that I love the brightness they add, and the contrast against the dark wood.SHOP THE LOOK
